91Ӱ�� and Oklahoma State University today announced a partnership to help more students move from A to B – an associate degree to a bachelor’s degree – between the two institutions.

OSU President Burns Hargis, OSU Tulsa President Howard Barnett and 91Ӱ�� President Leigh B. Goodson took part in a signing ceremony to establish nearly 20 new paths so students can complete an associate degree at 91Ӱ�� and transfer their credits to OSU to complete a bachelor’s degree.

“Our mission is to provide access to affordable education and help students reach their education goals,” said 91Ӱ�� President & CEO Leigh B. Goodson, Ph.D. “This partnership ensures 91Ӱ�� students can easily transfer directly into a bachelor’s degree in the designated academic programs. No wasted time or money and it’s a great example of two institutions working together to support student success.”

The transfer agreement between OSU and 91Ӱ�� involves nearly 20 new articulated degree programs including Applied Sociology, Business Administration/Management, Computer Information Systems/Computer Science, Geology, Political Science and Sociology.

These will be added to the 19 existing programs between 91Ӱ�� and OSU in Tulsa. This partnership increases access to affordable public higher education in the state and could boost the number of transfer students who complete a bachelor’s degree. Each year, approximately 600 91Ӱ�� students transfer to OSU.

“We have worked for many years to help 91Ӱ�� students complete bachelor degrees at OSU,” said OSU President Burns Hargis. “In fact, 91Ӱ�� is OSU’s number one feeder school. We’re pleased to strengthen our partnership with 91Ӱ�� and work together to help more students achieve their educational goals.”

In addition to the A to B (associate to bachelor’s degree) agreements, 91Ӱ�� will participate in the OSU Reverse Transfer Initiative, a statewide collaboration with public community colleges. This initiative helps students to complete an associate degree from 91Ӱ�� while continuing to complete their bachelor’s degree. Students benefit by earning an academic credential without extra work or expense. In addition, the associate degree may satisfy general education requirements which could reduce the number of credit hours for a bachelor’s degree. To qualify for reverse transfer, students must have earned 15 credit hours at 91Ӱ�� and be enrolled at a regional or comprehensive university.

The new 91Ӱ�� and OSU transfer agreements involve the following degrees.
